Supervised Visitation Monitor, Family Service Center, Salinas (part-time)Facilitates the visitation process of families that have been separated for various reasons and referred by the Family Court System.Assists in the maintenance of a smooth running center.Keeps the Program Officer informed of all pertinent issues and problem areas.Oversees the appropriate scheduling of clients.Monitor and documents all interaction between child(ren) and visiting parties.Ensures the safety and wellbeing of children.Avoids taking sides with either party.Assesses and collects fees.Monitors and enforces that all involved parties follow the Supervised Visitation guidelines.Intervenes on all inappropriate behavior and any deviation of guidelines immediately.Acts as a role model for parents, providing support, guidance and appropriate referrals as needed or requested.Prepares reports to the court as needed.Other duties as assigned.Maturity, good judgment, dependability, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential in this position, as is respect for clients and maintenance of client confidentiality.A minimum of 2 years of coursework in Early Childhood Development or related field and 2 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Successful candidates for this position will be required to complete all training required California's Rules of Court, Judicial Administration Standard 5.20.A valid California driver's license may be required.Physical, mental and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions.Manual dexterity sufficient to write, use the telephone, computer, calculator and office machines at required speed and accuracy.Vision sufficient to read handwritten and printed materials and the display screen of various office equipment and machines.Hearing sufficient to communicate in person and hold telephone conversations in the normal range;Speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distances on the telephone and addressing groups.Physical stamina sufficient to sustain light to medium physical labor for up to 8 hours, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment for sustained periods of time on hard flooring, climb slopes, stairs, ramps and to respond to emergency situations.Physical strength sufficient to periodically lift, carry, push and/or pull 40 pounds of materials or supplies; occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull more than 40 pounds with assistance.Salary $25.17 – $30.60 per hour D.O.E. Additional 5% if bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
